I used to swear by MS Word. It was simple and had all the features I needed. It even synced to onedrive so I could move between my computer and tablet so I could work on the go.
But I am so disappointed in the mobile app. Other stuff is there but doesn’t work reliably, like headers or paragraph settings. It crashes and sometimes it saves my work, other times it freezes and I lose everything. This program has problems that need to be corrected. It double spaces when it shouldn’t. Copy and paste malfunctions ALL the time. Especially on a smartphone.
I bought a tablet to see if it does the same thing. So far so good. Andi could go on but I’m going to wait and see. I don’t know when I wrote the review above. Never the less, in recent use and an upgrade on my phone Word app has improved. The double space when you begin a new sentence is bothersome but I’ve been working with it.
Enforcing ‘s paid subscription to edit documents on mobile? Absolutely ridiculous. The UI is terrible for a mobile enviornment, looking like the desktop version all smushed together, making it harder to use.
It’s a solid document editing app, it does work well if you possess such a subscription and can adjust to the UI, but it’s a big fat no from me for now. Sad to see Microsoft go this way. We regularly release updates to the app, which include great new features, as well as improvements for speed and reliability.
