Does anyone know where your digital copy of a movie is stored on pc when you download from Flixster, everything about Flixster seems to be hidden, even the program file. It naturally downloads movie to Hard drive but I want to move the movie to my larger external drive, the problem is I cannot find the movie folder so I can move it.

There is a folder which is large so I’m presuming these are the films but the next problem is they are just marked as letters and numbers “8FB0CB8CDCFCE87 ” and under file type just says file, so if I just copy nothing is going to work as nothing will recognise the file format, I’m assuming I just cant rename the file and format to mp4, anyone know how to get these back to normal looking film formats.

I would imagine they are full of DRM so we can not really discuss how to crack that. If there is no DRM and the file is readable as media then just drag it into vlcplayer see what happens. You are supposed to be able to watch the movie where ever you like on whatever you want so confused on why I cant just drag and drop, I downloaded one movie on Itunes that stored as a mp4 straight away, so not sure why this all seems to be encrypted on Flixster and Ultraviolet.

Try copying the big file to a new name with the appropriate extension and then try to play it. I often pull flash files, like from youtube, from the browser cache and they have random names with no extension. After renaming they play fine.
