Was this reply helpful? Yes No. Sorry this didn’t help. The thing about these chipsets is that you have to install them using the OEM’s package. It really matters not who made the actual component like Broadcom makes Bluetooth, Intel makes WiFI, and Seagate or Toshiba probably built your hard disk , you have to always get the drivers from Asus for all of them.

Nothing changed. I went through the same steps and nothing changed. I still cannot search for WiFi Networks. As you can see in the events log for the Intel Wireless chip, the device was “not migrated” after I installed it. Not sure what this means but it’s probably the root of my issue. You mentioned you installed Asus, then Intel. Please definitely take the time to remove it as thoroughly as possible, restart , then install the Asus ones, and restart again.

Please do not “shutdown then turn it back on” – because if fast-startup is enabled that will just hibernate and not actually reboot the kernel. I even checked the Device manager to make sure the previous driver was uninstalled and the adapter was no longer listed. After installing the “older” driver, it is back but still no luck. The event log still reads that the device “was not migrated. EDIT: I ran the command prompt lines and still no luck.

Here’s a screenshot. Next go to power options, wireless adapter settings-max performance, pcie-set to off or moderate power. For two usb wifi devices, I had to uninstall the physical adapter form device manager and uninstall. Choose where you want to search below Search Search the Community. After recently looking up answers to why my Windows 10 apps store, edge etc. Now ive redownloaded and reinstalled my drivers but the “wifi” button in network is still missing.

Only ethernet connection is available. Under network adapters in “device manager” my “Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC “‘s properties say the device is working properly but my wifi is still disabled.

In reply to CmdrKeene’s post on July 11, It seems only the device manager recognizes it.

In reply to chaos’s post on July 11, That is odd, being in Device Manager I’ve never seen it not get listed under that adapter section. When you redownloaded the driver from Asus, did it come with an installer or was it just a driver file like. Well i downloaded it from Intel cause its an intel device but it didncome with an installer yes. I used the Intel Driver update utility.

I would remove the Intel driver and go get the one form the original equipment manufacturer. Im at the beach waiting on an ethernet cord so i’ll give it try in a few days. Thanks for the quick reply. Ill update you soon. In reply to chaos’s post on July 17, Then, can you try this? You’ll be prompted for this admin action. Make sure the top of the command prompt window says “Administrator” in the title.

Type these two commands to reset the networking system: Type each of these lines, press enter after each one netsh winsock reset catalog netsh int ip reset reset. Let me know how it goes. In reply to CmdrKeene’s post on July 18, In reply to chaos’s post on July 19, I have just had an issue with wifi networking and win Having let win10 install-update drivers automaticly with no issues untill recently.

What I had to do was download the driver for the adapter from the oem, dlink. I have one laptop that has wifi pcie and lan connection. I had shut off the wifi some time ago as I was not using it.

Recently after getting creators update my laptop started going into hybrid sleep. I did not want hybrid sleep and shut it off. What I noticed was on every boot, the wifi light up for a brief few seconds. I decided to turn on the wifi again just to check the strength of the adapter. I had turned it on by pressing the button on the laptop, but it did not show active white light.

I opened the win10 network settings and it still had the wifi set to off, I enabled it but was still not working. I then checked the hp connection manager and it was set to not connected.

This laptop has an amd cpu and other configuration settings through amd’s catalyst control center, it was still in the off position; when turned on everything worked again. Another issue may be that your device has an AC ability that puts the connection in the higher channel and bandwidth throughput, depending on what the connected device may support In network adapters, check device manager for power settings- wake or sleep, uncheck both.

Next go to power options, wireless adapter settings-max performance, pcie-set to off or moderate power if the wifi adapter is usb, uncheck usb suspend, device manager usb ports uncheck-turn off device to save power.

For two usb wifi devices, I had to uninstall the physical adapter form device manager and uninstall all hidden network adapters, do not reboot the pc, but install the oem driver. If the adapter is controlled by asus or intel I would install for that one. I would first check power settings and device manager and see if it is just going to sleep.
