Microsoft word 2013 not spell checking free download. Spell checker doesn’t check text in the form fields in Word
For some reason the ‘autocorrect’ in Microsoft Word is not working. I went to at least fifty ‘answers’ in this forum only to be redirected to half explanations or long tutorials about highlighting each sentence first to spell and grammar check. What I need is a straight answer: How do I turn on the Microsoft Word feature that automatically changes my writing of misspelled words and suggestions on grammar?
I misspelled a word on purpose and it didn’t get the squiggly line telling me the word was spelled wrong, nor did it tell me the word was spelled wrong on the grammar and spelling check when I was through. So, simple; IS there a way to bring back this feature, like in the previous versions of Word? If the answer is yes then could you tell me what steps to take to turn it on.
If the feature is gone, or if it now has to be checked sentence by sentence, then please tell me that so I can go back to my old Microsoft Word. Thanks in advance and shame on Microsoft for whatever wacky reason they might have for getting rid of this invaluable feature, if that is the case. Plus making me spend all this time trying to find a simple answer to a simple question.
All I want is my spelling and grammar check back. I’m not yelling at any kind responder for helping me, just the morons that would make it so hard to find out how to turn spellcheck on.
Thanks in advance. I doubt that you have any problem with AutoCorrect; from the description, the problem is that the spell checker isn’t finding your misspellings. There are a number of possible causes for that. You haven’t given enough information about the investigations you’ve already done for me to be able to point to one specific cause.
In any case, be assured that you do NOT have to check sentence by sentence to make spell checking work, and that Microsoft did NOT get rid of the feature. As per the description provided it seems that you have not tried to disable the Add-ins for Word and Outlook.
Since spell check works fine in its application safe mode. Let us start with opening Word in safe mode. To do that, follow the steps below. If the application works fine safe mode, try disabling the add ins for the application and check the result,. Was this reply helpful? Yes No. Sorry this didn’t help. Thanks for your feedback. Hi there, Disabling Add-ins was one of the first things i looked at and this did not solve the issue.
This has been resolved by uninstalling office completely including clearing out registry and directories. I have the same problem in both Outlook and Word. Threats include any threat of suicide, violence, or harm to another. Any content of an adult theme or inappropriate to a community web site.
