I’ve been writing MS Access applications since or so. For those of us that are not full time programmers, but are dangerous enough to know how to leverage data and technical know how, MS Access really has no equal.
Let’s be clear, the beauty of MS Access is that for a fairly tech savvy person, the technology doesn’t get in your way of delivering business results. Bottom line I can build an app in less than a week and have it up and running with reporting.
I haven’t found an IT department that can do that for me in 20 years. In fact, MS Access has scared IT departments in the past, as they are worried about control over and support of the applications that “under the radar” or “shadow IT” individuals were using to run their business.
